Though she has heard those in pursuit of her leave, she still remains hidden in between two bookshelves, only now, she’s not crouched and holding her breath, now she’s finally sitting and breathing in air like it’s going out of fashion, until she hears it again, approaching footsteps, and she realizes that she can’t hide, not in here, the store is only so big, and she doesn’t have an extraction plan. The creaking of floorboards sets her on edge, and she moves from her seated position back into a crouched one, and as she does her gaze falls upon the markings of the Kobejitsu inked upon her wrist, and she silently curses herself for letting it be seen outside of Erebus. After all, if hunters had not seen it, she would not be stuck in this situation. Thoughts flit through her mind but with the ever increasing creaking of old floorboards she has to push it aside, and focus on the now, and not the then. Slender fingers curl around the thickest book she can find that’s close to her, and once she has it she steps out of the aisle, only she’s faced not with those she had been running from, but someone else, and in the moment she’s not quite sure of what to do.
His bangs were somewhat cloaking his exhausted look as he walked through his seemingly endless store. The fable heard the faint change in pressure on the wooden floor, ‘ah so there she is’, he mused to himself as he moved to turn around the corner of the aisle. Alas it seemed she had beat him to it, holding a massive book at that. “Whoa—”, he muttered and swiftly grabbed the book, holding it fast with his strength. Arching an eyebrow at the female he pushed the book downwards, not exactly wanting her to throw the thing in his face. Taking a look at her panicked face he amused she was the person they were after. After a few second he figured he was better off telling her that the coast was indeed clear. “They left.”, he simply stated as his gaze moved to the book they were both holding. “—And you can let go of the book.” he explained further and awaited her reply.
